You will have no doubt seen in the news over the past 24 hours that there are rumours of an impending national lockdown that could last for a few weeks.
This is still an unofficial announcement and as of yet we had any steer from the Government on what this means for hospitality and weddings. We are expecting to hear more either this afternoon or over the next 24 hours. We will digest what this means for us all and then we will hopefully be in a clearer position as to how this affects the weddings later this year at Kingscote Barn.
We would really appreciate it if you let us get in touch with you rather than calling us at this time, as our teams will be doing their best to help each wedding affected by this announcement. On behalf of our team, I would like to thank you all for such tremendous support over the past few months since our re-opening in July and we will be contacting you again next week once the full Government regulations and guidelines have been released.

Update 25th September 2020
Following the recent Government announcement, we are contacting our couples whose weddings are now affected by this guidance up to the end of March 2021.
We will do this in as fair a way as possible, working in date order, to give everyone a full choice of the options available to them and the opportunity to choose the right direction when ready to do so.
We continue to adapt to the changes in guidance from the Government and will review our policies as new information becomes available.
We understand your concerns about the impact Covid-19 is having on your wedding. Please be assured that we are here to chat through your options and give you our opinion as always.
If your wedding date falls after the 31st March 2021, please be patient until we have any further news. We will be in contact 3 months before your wedding to discuss the options available to you then, in view of the information we have at that time.
A lot can happen in 6 months with the whole world working towards conquering this virus.
In the meantime, please sit tight, keep planning, and look forward to the day. The office is open, and the team are all busy working with our couples.

Kingscote Barn Statement – Friday 17th July 2020
Staying Safe at Kingscote Barn
We are very excited to be opening up for staycations in our beautiful valley and we look forward to welcoming you all. We are lucky that we have lots of space, both inside and out. Our bedrooms are dispersed across our cottages, eco-pods, lodges and tree house and our Barn restaurant is set in a fantastic space, ideal to accommodate social distancing, with a lovely south-facing terrace for al fresco dining.
To ensure you feel safe and for the safety of our team the following has been put in place:
We have increased signage in the Barn and the Office and have provided sanitiser for your use at the entry and exit points and throughout the Barn and Accommodation.
As the foundation of our team at Kingscote Barn we are very aware that looking after our housekeeping team is a priority and we are doing everything we can to ensure their safety as well as those of our guests. Our team are having temperature checks regularly and we have kitted out all our housekeeping staff with a personal portable sanitiser to wear and appropriate ppe to ensure continued bacteria control. Also, our amazing housekeeping team are stepping it up a notch and you’ll see continuous cleaning around “touch points”- door knobs, handles, in the loos etc… in the main areas.
Our cleaning procedures also include wiping down of all surfaces and the spraying of an unharmful airborne sanitiser to ensure all surfaces, fabrics and furniture are safely sanitised. We have invested in disinfectant fogging machines for use in the rooms and public areas. The chemical used is 100% food safe and non-harmful to humans, but it is entirely effective against viruses and bacteria and continues to protect surfaces long after contact.
In the Barn Reception we have put in place a procedure so that only one person at a time is allowed in the toilets. We have put sanitisers outside the toilets to use before entering and exiting. We ask that guests staying with us use the bathrooms in their bedrooms if possible. When walking through the Barn we ask you to please use discretion and keep a minimum of one metre between yourself and other guests.
Room keys will be sanitised and sealed before being handed out, hand sanitiser is available in all bedrooms. We are operating on a minimal touch service while you stay with us and we will not therefore touch or move any of your belongings. Should you prefer, our cleaning team will not enter you room during your stay. Please advise the reception team at check-in. We are unable to offer a breakfast buffet at present and breakfast hampers can be delivered to your rooms for that breakfast in bed experience.
The restaurant is pre bookable only, for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner and we ask that you wait at the entrance to be seated ensuring social distancing at all times.
There are separate entry and exit points and there are perspex screens to offer further protection to you and our team.
We are fortunate to have plenty of inside and outside space so you can dine with us while feeling safe and relaxed.
In the restaurant hand sanitiser will be available on each table and we have reduced the number of tables to increase the distance to two metres. In line with the Government guidelines the maximum number of people per table is 6. If you prefer to dine in your bedroom, please let us arrange this for you. We will only be accepting credit and debit cards at this time.
We have a flexible cancellation policy for individual room bookings and will be understanding in all situations connected to COVID 19. If you feel unwell we can always postpone your stay until you feel better.
We would like to reassure our guests, team members and suppliers that we have taken every measure possible to keep everyone safe and happy and provide our usual welcome.
