Grounds & Accessibility

We’ve been working hard to make sure we can offer accessibility throughout our venue. We have step-free access from the ceremony, through to the wedding breakfast and back to your room.

On Arrival

  • We have designated car parking spaces for guests who require close access to the Barn
  • Entrance to the venue is a gentle slope that is suitable for a wheelchair

The Barn

  • Tiled floors and ramps throughout make it accessible (all except the gallery in the barn)
  • An accessible toilet is located near the back of the venue with a fully adapted toilet with emergency pull cord, raised toilet and lowered sink.

Our Accommodation

  • Many rooms are located on the ground floor, with ramp access and reasonably large bathrooms
  • We do not have adapted bathrooms and grab rails are not in the bedrooms as standard however if required and with prior notice we may be able to provide these.

Sparklers & Fireworks

People often assume sparklers are harmless but they do burn at fierce temperatures, so here are some important tips to ensure everyone stays safe whilst securing that perfect sparkler shot!

  • Get your sparkler shot done as early as possible (before the first dance).
  • Provide no more than 50 sparklers
  • Ensure you provide extra long sparklers. Short ones burn too quickly so won't allow you to get the best shot! These sparklers are a good choice!
  • Please ensure all burnt out sparklers are placed in the metal buckets of water (Kingscote Barn will provide buckets)

Winter Wedding Sparklers

Sparklers are a great photo opportunity but they are only possible during the winter months, once the sun has set nice and early. The ideal time to do sparklers is October through to March.

We don't allow sparklers after the first dance as guests are usually too tipsy after this time!

Fireworks

If you really want to wow your guests, then you could always organise fireworks!

We work with Coates Fireworks who can provide them for your wedding here at Kingscote Barn:

Food & Drink

Do you allow external catering companies?

We are delighted to work with four amazing catering companies, carefully handpicked by The Kingscote Barn Team.
Epic Caterers, Relish, Strawberry Field & Reeka Events are all very flexible and would be more than happy to discuss your requirements and menu ideas. These are the only catering teams we allow on site, we do not permit external catering.

Can we bring our own drinks?

As the happy couple, you are welcome to provide your own drinks for the drinks reception and wedding breakfast or whole day if you wish to. We don’t charge corkage but the caterers may charge a service fee per person to cover glasses and their staffing costs for serving the drinks. A card bar can also be available for guests to purchase their own drinks throughout the day. (please note our caterers don't carry cash here on site - so please emphasise this to your guests!)

What time does the bar open/close?

The Bar is usually open straight after your ceremony until 12.30am, if you were looking for this to be open prior to your ceremony our caterers can discuss your individual requirements.

What do we do if we have special dietary requirements?

All you’ll need to do is let your chosen caterer know ahead of time, and they’ll be more than happy to make any special accommodations for you or your guests.

Ceremonies

Can we get married at our local church, or somewhere else?

Absolutely, if you are looking for a traditional Church wedding service, there are several different options in the surrounding area – we can help you with this! We’d be more than happy to welcome all your guests after the ceremony and ensure everything is in place for your reception – that’s not a problem at all.

Can I hold a civil partnership with you?

Our doors are always open to every couple. You and your partner can enjoy a civil ceremony in whatever way you’d like – right here with us.

Are you a licensed venue?

Yes absolutely, we are a licensed wedding venue, so you can get married right here, either outside on our south facing front terrace under our Oak Framed Linhay, or inside our stunning high ceiling Cotswold Stone Barn (do not panic – we always have plans in place to move indoors if the British Weather lets us down!) We recommend you liaise with Gloucestershire Registry Office (01452 425060 – option 3) who’ll officiate your wedding.

"Thank you Kingscote Barn for making our day so incredibly special! We are truly grateful for the beautiful memories we have of our day which will hold a special place in our hearts forever."
